![]() Sensitive fellow that I may be, I go for chick lit far more than one would expect, and so I was not at all dreading picking up Deborah Copaken Kogan’s new book. Like a lot of people, I love Shutterbabe but that was such terrific material, I did not have the same confidence that she would pull off the same trick with the (mis)adventures of Upper West Side momdom. Hell is Other Parents is one of the funniest books I've read in as long as my failing memory allows. Love, sex, death and Zabar’s, with funny, piercing insights—some that cut a little too close to my particular old bones—along the way. |

"Shutterbabe" had one of the best titles in all bookdom but I worry, based on the current book's title, that a similar supercilious tone will pervade Kogan's writing here.
